I have an ‘05 Gen 1 with a gorgeous set of BST Carbon Fiber rims. I don’t ride the bike much at all, sits in my garage, so here I am putting out a feeler if anyone would buy the Rims for $2,900 (now $2,700) shipped to U.S.. If so, I will pull the BST’s off and install the stock wheels to sell the bike locally.

The wheels are in perfect beautiful condition, have less than 300 miles on them. Come with the BST’s upgrade Ceramic Bearings ($350), captive spacers, easy direct bolt on for a Gen 1. 3.5” front, 6.0” rear.

Will also fit 2006-2010, rear direct bolt on, front spacers from Brock’s are all that is needed ($39).

Installing these CF wheels was unquestionably the single most effective upgrade I have done to the bike. It was like adding 15 hp. Accelerates and stops and flicks incredibly with these featherweight wheels.

I applied the green rim stripes, easily removable.

I'm not sure how much this helps, but Don Sholand bought an old Akrapovic Slip-On for his 1st Gen from me last year, we discussed it via email and we agreed on price, he paid and I sent off the pipe...No Issues. Seems like a good guy in my book, he even sent me some pictures of the bike after he got it installed and his 1st Gen looks gorgeous!

I always require PayPal for payment (not friends and family) so both buyer and seller have protection.

As far as “overkill” for the bike …. Yes it is, but man the huge reduction in rotating mass the Carbon Fiber wheels provide will absolutely blow your mind. It truly feels like 15 hp was added, and handling/braking hugely improved. Worth every penny!

Don, doing the PayPal thing with eBay would alleviate pretty much any purchase hesitation. And no offense intended in any post above. I've been away from the forum for years, and haven't interacted with many newer members. Those rims, are pure bike porn.. absolutely beautiful.

I've bought a used Gen 1 (again!) and I intend to keep this one until the wheels fall off...

Unfortunately, I'm not ready to invest $2900+ on CF rims when I have a few issues to work out with a bike that had 15.5k miles and a few worn items, when purchased. Only had it a week, as of this post.

I'll keep this thread in mind, should I win a lottery.. !

Edit: Please keep me in mind if you have any other Gen 1 bits that need a new home.. I don't have any specific wants/needs at the moment, but your Gen 1 looks mint, and a guy like you is probably as obsessive as I am at keeping a bike tip top! I'm sure I'd be happy with anything you discard.. Cheers!
