2019 ZX10RR head mods

Hi all, got a green light to dive into the engine & squeeze more power. As of this time the head is halfway done with porting, intake ports require some filling to remove the low spots to blend in. On the 17-18 ZX10RR only the intakes were ported but on the 19 ZX10RR the exhaust is also ported, the guy that did this head must be in a hurry to do the intake as the finish isn't consistent from port to port.

Appreciate the photos.
Have you seen what a Gen3 looks like? Does it need any kind of stage 1 TLC such as this?

Honestly I haven't come across any Gen3 or older cylinder head, I think any cylinder head would benefit from getting this treatment.

Are you referring to me? No new pistons, just clean them up.

The service manual says the “Torque Limiter” is under there. Not 100% sure what that is (slipper clutch?) but make sure you seal the cover properly if you remove it. Otherwise it will leak oil. AMHIK

Let's get this project going.

Done porting the intake & exhaust, milled the head surface.

Assembled the valve train & checking squish clearance.

Even with the thinnest kit head gasket for this engine (0.65mm) there's plenty of clearance between the head & pistons, if there was a 0.60 or 0.55mm kit head gasket I would have fitted it to get more compression out of this engine. Anyway I'm setting the valve clearances now to kit manual specs & I ran out of shims to adjust it, waiting for Kawasaki to ship out the shims I ordered.
