My 10r clutch began to slip with only 1100 miles on it. Seems like no mater what I do to adjust it, it slips. Works fine until I open the throttle and rpm gets up to about 6-8 grand. Is my oil the problem? Using Val 10w40 for motorcycles full syth.
Ok a little history. I bought the bike from a friend who bought it new in 2018. I've put all but the first 12 miles on it. Currently at 1300 miles. I don't beat the bike as I've just broken the engine in. Any reccomendations for replacing the clutch and springs and whatever else would be appreciated.

Clutch is shot. I would replace both fiber and steel plates with oem springs probly still good. Soak the new fibers in oil for hour before installing.

get the shop manual, pull the clutch n inspect the plates and the basket for wear replace as necessary, dont just throw parts @ it. the clutches are usually really tuff unless u drag race the bike
It would take a lot of smoke a zx10r clutch but it's not impossible. For instance, if it's not properly adjusted at the perch (without the needed slack). Order new fiber plates and a new clutch cover gasket. Cometic makes a clutch cover gasket that is reusable. It takes 30 minutes to replace it all, very easy. Just use the service manual. Don't worry about aftermarket clutches, OEM clutch is very good.
Get a set of clutch spring retainers from a 2007-12 ZX6R, it has a height of 6mm compared to the stock retainers which are 8mm. You'll be adding more preload on the clutch springs which will prevent the clutch plates from slipping under acceleration.
under warranty, take to Kawa shop. Has to be a defect or something else under warranty. Buy the extended warranty on this bike from this mom and pop dealer, call and mail.

shop around first but they'll probably beat everyone.
Replaced clutch problem solved. Thanks.
