will these calipers directly fit on a 04 zx10? im having an issue with my braking right now and i found an awesome deal on these calipersbrand new. if you could help me out that would be great.
Yes and no. They do bolt on however the rotors are larger on the 2008+ bikes. You have 300mm and 08+ have 310mm. Also, you will need to mill off atleast 5mm of material from the calipers so they sit far enough down on the 310mm rotors(the fork mounts for calipers are shorter on 08+). Or buy 320mm rotors and then the 08+ calipers will work fine.
You CAN use the 08+ calipers but HAVE to use at least 310mm rotors off the later 08+ bikes too. The pads will not completely touch rotors though but won't be noticeable evn if track riding. Will cause a little lip to develop on pads. That is why 5-10mm should be milled off calipers though.
I don't know about that
Kawasaki had a habit of just making the caliper mount point different lengths from the axel.
i upgraded the disc's on my 04 with 06 and had to put 10mm spacers and longer bolts
because the fork mounting point was shorter on my 04
so just changing calipers may be a bolt on and off thing.
I put 08 calipers(same as gen 4) on my 05 zx6r. Too get it to work I got 08 discs. I thought that would work and I wouldn't have to do anything else, wrong. I had to have the caliper legs cnc'd 2-3mm (forget the number) to fit perfectly. The guy that did it for me still has the rig to do it. You would have to mail them too him and pay for the machining. It would probably be way cheaper to just get the nissin calipers.
I have annoying problem with the KQS.
Going up 3rd is near impossible to get other than the first two laps.
It was the same with the stock pegs, is the same with rearsets.
The bike had the recall for the suspect gear and I feel the KQS to 3rd got worse after that, although it did more track work...
I'm starting to build up a new motor for my G1 track bike. I have gathered a clean core motor (28k, almost all highway commuter miles, great compression), G1 kit intake cam, and a few other items. I tore the motor down yesterday to send the head out for a clean/beadblast/mill/port/rebuild and...
Tech question. Bike stalled on me the other day when I was rolling up to a stop sign with the clutch pulled in. Now when I try starting the bike in first with the clutch pulled in the bike moves forward. Like the clutch isn’t disengaging. I have proper 3mm clutch lever free play. Took the cover...
Hi There, I’m in NewZealand and race an Open Wheel Lightning Sprint, have just installed a 2008 zx10r. Had an ECU flash done then onto dyno for tuning, for some reason a sensor is telling it that it needs more fuel than necessary, fuel pressure set at 43psi but far too rich, went as low as 28psi...
If a gen 4 throttle body, wire harness and ECU are installed on a gen 5 engine, will a gen 4 gear position sensor work properly on the gen 5 engine? I've read that a gen 4 gearbox can be installed in a gen 5 engine and then the gen 4 gear position sensor will work. I'm wondering if the gen 4...
