Alrighty, I'm gonna do my best to describe what I THINK is going on. (maybe I'm just crazy?) :helmet:

I have an '08 10r with full akrapovic exhaust, bazzaz z-fi w/ toggle switch, BMC race filter, and ivan's block-offs. The bike runs really hard up till about 10k then it feels almost like its struggling to accelerate.. :dontknow: I bought the bike @ 1,800 miles w/ the mods installed just after break-in. The guy I bought it from ran the Auto-Tune feature on the Bazzaz.

Side note.. I rode my friends '07 R1 w/ 3/4 exhaust and a PC III. First gear on that wheelies accidentally like its going outta style. On my 10r I really have to mean to stand 'er up in 1st. Is this just because power delivery is much smoother on the Kawi or would it be because my fuel map isn't worth a shit?? Mind you I'm no Spies or Hayden, but I've been riding for years. Not that top-speed is a must, but I've tried topping out a few times and the bike just won't do it!

Can anyone offer some insight?

Get your bike on a dyno and check the graph, sounds like your map needs some work. Full throttle in 1st will flip my ass into the ground if I smack it open, trust me when I say that there is nothing flat about a 3rd gen 10r!

Mine stays planted pretty well in 1st... I would say the map is probably off. Might look into cleaning/replacing the air filter too, these things suck in a lot of shit and they get clogged quickly.

I plan on getting my on the dyno in a few weeks! I thought it was strange that it didn't wanna stand up w/out chopping the throttle. I'm having the local Harley dealership tune it for me. They said it would run me at the most, $250.00. That sounds reasonable?

Same mods. 1 made with autotune 13.0/1 target, the other
is a mix of maps that worked well for me in different areas.

Toggle switch is $ well spent.

I'm no straight line rider, I like to ride and learn every aspect of riding if its street or track. But you say you don't think the top in is there on this 3rd gen? There has to be something either wrong with your bike or your not on the throttle 100%. I can say in first it would pull over on me and 2nd is still touchy and I'm at 17/41 right now and that's stock gearing. I have played with 15/42,16/41,17/42,18/39 for all different riding days and this bikes a beast. When I'm running the stock gearing I run 181+mph on gps and have only been beat by a couple 1000's while doing roll on's, and launches. This bike is very solid and very fast. If you don't think this bike is fast go jump on a 08/09 cbr1000rr and tell me the difference between the two in the acceleration department because its drastic!!

I'm no straight line rider myself; I absolutely live for carving corners. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong. Hopefully it's just mapping issues. I already know its running rich cuz of the 'popping' when I let off the throttle. I'm running stock gearing as well. I'm honestly impressed w/ the handling of this bike; its probably THE BEST I've have ever ridden. Did you have a custom map made?

You have MAP issues. Get her on the dyno and have it checked.....

I did have one but sold my pcIII on criag's list, I'm right now buying a pcv,auto tune,led screen,air shifter so I'm hoping to have this new setup soon!!

Lemme know how that goes! If I don't get this shit sorted out w/ the Bazzaz I'm gonna sell it and get a PCV as well.

yeah I loved the pcIII but it was to big, took up my hole tail etc. Some members will bash on me for selling something due to size or say get a back pack or something. Sorry guys I got it dirt cheap from a guy that wrecked his 08 zx10r for $100 bucks and sold it for $200 on craig list to go towards my new setup

Yeah I no man but I did it so I could afford a new setup and it was more about making money out of the deal, I only had the pcIII on my bike for about a week before it was off and sold cause I wanted the extra cash for my new setup!!

Thats what I said, I have found some bad ass deals on stuff from here and craig's list bought it and flipped it locally to guys I know for a little extra...No friends just riding buddies haha!! I'm no crack head or anything but when you find a m4 exhaust for 80+shipping for a 08/09 zx10r on craig's list you buy it and sit on it for a minute then resell it etc. I did that with the m4 exhaust and made 120 dollars out of the deal.

How much fuel did you add at 100% throttle from 9000 rpm to redline?
