1gen problem - oil leak

532 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  teror1sta
Bike is 28K km and is like brand new. I accelerate on 3rd gear mid rpm (~ 5-6K) and gear pop up. After 1/2 second gear shift it self but VERY harsh . After I came home notice oil leak from the left side of the engine. Somewhere behind starter (can't see exactly where).

Engine running like before . Maybe little more noise. Only I notice when shift 1st gear from stand still is little harsh . After that no problem with gears.

Any ideas for leakage of oil ??

Have you checked the valve cover? I know our Gen1 leaks a little at the top left corner of the valve cover if you're standing over the bike. That's one of the most common leaks on the 1st gens.

:+1: Mine did that too. Just replaced the gasket and was good to go. :ayyy:
Thanks guys, but the problem is not there. There is a crack in the block to the right of the starter. I did not expect zx10 be such a crap....
