I've recently purchased an 09 zx-10 and was wondering if there were any changes made from the 08 to 09. (besides colour)

The numbering on the tach was changed. That's the only physical apparent change that was done. And allegedly, the clutch cable was re-routed.

Ok, so it seems I'm not going to be proving anybody wrong anytime soon.

Mclovin, I've actually been having some clutch issues. Nothing hectic, but when the bike is cold it feels like the clutch doesn't engage properly. After a few min (if that) of riding, it goes away. I've spoken to the dealership about it, and they said they would address the issue on it's 1000km service.

dont waste your money on that 1000 mile service its nothing but a over priced oil change.. save some money and do it your self ... I just changed my oil today got 7001 miles on her already. then took it out beat on it a little bit nothing to bad LOL..

didnt they also fix that dreaded pulling to the right problem as well? re-routed the cable?

The clutch cable was not re-routed, nor is it a different cable in any way.

We compared mine at the dealership when I had it replaced. Exactly the same.

The fork caps are different colour. I heard they may have changed the fork valving slightly on the '09 but I can't validate this.

they didnt, someone asked me once if they changed the springs or any thing inside the forks and they didnt, just the outside wall color, hence that the only thing that is different between the two years are colors

Seems Abprep07 is right. I've found nothing to suggest there are any changes from the 08 to the 09. Not a bad thing. I was just curious.

Hmmmm, could be that the clutch isn't completly broken in yet...........or change the oil yourself and see if that will help.....it should. DO NOT get the service! Like stated, complete waste of your money and they will scratch your bike. They always do! You should change the oil way before the 600 mile mark.........

The only problem with that suggestion, is I suck at the DIY stuff. I'm the kind of person that will rather pay than do it myself.

Changing your oil is really easy and rewarding once you do it! You'll feel better about your baby and yourself. Trust me, this is something you realy want to do and try out!

Ok, I'm listening. Can you give me step by step (baby steps) instructions, or maybe point me in the right direction?
