08-09 speedo cluster ona gen 2? is it a direct swap?

it has the gear indicator in the speedo itself and looks the same as the gen 2 tho. just wanted to know.

It will plug in, but gear indicator won't work and the fi light will blink.

But I am sure there is a way to get it to work, very similar to this.
