So I was at Willow Springs getting my race license with my bad ass kawi green 05 ZX10R last weekend when it decided not to start on several occasions.
I noticed the times it failed to fire up I also did NOT hear the normal "buzz" of the fuel pump when I hit the kill switch. (Key ignition removed as it's a race only bike so there's a 2nd kill switch instead)

It was intermittent throughout the day and was very annoying.
Starts 3-4 times ok in 10min to get back forth from tech to pits. Then does NOT start when I need to go to the hot pit line. AAaargh.

Checked the tip over switch and it seemed intact and mounted upright still.
I'm no electrical expert but it seems rather to be wiring related VS fuel pump going out is it's intermittent VS completely not working.

Was going to take it into the shop today but since now it starts every time I cant reproduce it failing so dont want to get stuck with hours of shop diagnosis.

Are there any common relays known to go bad or wiring trouble spots?

i have never herd of a fuel pump relay going bad. but i removed my ignition and had a few problems with the wiring to remove it. i don't know if you did the work yourself but it is a little complicated. i would check both kill switches. when you remove the ignition you need to solder a 100 ohm resister in line with the ignition wires for the ecu to turn on fuel, you could have a loose connection here, or a bad resister, check to make sure you have 100 oms. your problem is most likely one your 2 kill switches or their wiring. also check kickstand switch. im sure you have it bypassed but this could also cause this problem.
