Hard to say, its a 60 degree day today , but it is noticeable, and you get a little pinging in the lower gears if you lug the engine. How much of a difference did you notice?
Should be a simple enough job to clip the revs and wire in a shift light , independant to the ECU, but I know what you are saying.Don't like the idea of not having a rev limiter. One missed shift like from my electric shift and poss. caboom!
Had a bad expreience in the past without one on a totally different bike. After I did the rebuild, I added a rev limiter, lol..
It will be interesting to read the future posts on this mod though.
I believe we had enough members on this site do well over 189mph(with GPS) but the speedo still is locked at 189mph and the general consensus is the Cluster electronics are not capable/programed or limited whatever you want to call it to show over 189mph.I think the ECU gets the speed signal and then just keeps retarding the ignition to keep the bike there , I guess the real solution is to put the bike on the dyno and see if the rollers keep accelerating when the speedo reads 189, my assumption is it wont and if you strobe the ignition you will probably find it keeps pulling timing.
This mod is meant to overcome that and so far from what I have seen their claims are true , I just have too many speeding tickets to find out.
Need more info. on that plug I'm not even sure which one your talking about and I know most of them. :dontknow: As far as gear indicators I am almost sure there is NO plug from the GPS to the ECU other than joint connectors so IMO no gear indicator other than the ones that need speed and tach signals(ACUMEN) will be affected.Well, we know that 6th gear pulls timing for sure ,if the mod also stops that then I am happy and I dont have any reason to doubt it as the rest sure works.
If the gauge itself has a preset for 189mph then thats no big deal so long as I am still accelerating.
I am wondering if by disconnecting the plug wether Gear indicators would still work , probably not ?
Never mind on the Pic. I see the one your talking about. It almost looks like it's acting like a joint connector we just need to see what signals are there and where they go per the manual. :dontknow:I'll get a better picture, its a 4 pin plug right next to the ECU , same kind of plug that you jump the wires on a 636.
