Bought it new in '04 was dissapointed at most of it other than the top speed.Knew that I'd probly be dissapointed with fuel injection,could tell by the sound and throttle response,I'm an old dog who dind'nt want to learn any new tricks. however...... after I felt it was old enough to sacrifice the Kleen system to the California emission gods,or whatever,I found that I could enjoy the machine,never as much as my '01 or '02 ,ZX6 R',but much more to my liking.

first drive(literally before I made it out of the dealer lot);Removed the rear fender with my leather man multitools saw. first week :installed Micron slip-on first month: I cut exhaust valve out. Third month;Power CommanderIII Fifth month;clutch replacement!Barnette full kit! First year;clutch #3 Fifth year;Eating clutch release" like 5 of 'em in 2 weeks,new bearings release rod and lever Year Ten;yanked Kleen system,rerout crankcase vent to modified airbox,block suction valves(starting to like it better,significantly) by year 11 toyed with different exhaust customizations Year 12;gear it down drop a full gear,install Power CommanderV,aftermarket fuel pump,clutch 13TH anniversary,remove secondary butterfly valves .....and WOW now Im enjoying this bike.......Clutch problems ....again

Nothing special,cosmetic repair from damage done by the cops on a couple of occasions,and a theft attempt!

Dynojet PCIII,then V,exhaust servo removed Kleen air valve removed as well as factory direction indicators,bypass "vehicle horizontal positioning sensor"or whatever....cigarettte lighter adapter for cell phone,compressor,or magnetic rotating traffic safety light(construction roadworker at time of purchase)

Rebuild,re-seal etc

whatever is reasonable and a bit sticky
