  1. Isle of Man styled racing in the USA

    General Motorcycle Discussions
Frankly, the open road racing events lose my interest pretty quick. I can appreciate it for what it is, but timed events like that aren't "interesting" to me after a short while. You lose the sense of speed watching the rally cars or bikes just trying to navigate the open road. It's cool to...
  2. Isle of Man styled racing in the USA

    General Motorcycle Discussions
I remember hearing about the fatality. Sad. I just didn't know they suspended the event. That's the outcome for things like this and the IoM TT is under a lot of pressure to do the same thing. I don't see the TT going away any time soon because of the culture and history, but the Peak will...

Not sure what "dumb rules" you are talking about. All it takes would be coordination to implement something like that. Coordination with the land owners, neighboring residents, law enforcement, emergency services, sponsors, support services, etc. They already sort of do this in the US. Have...
  4. Lewis Hamilton and Valentino Rossi Swap girlfriends!

    Pictures and Videos
That was neat! Thanks! That video led me to this one, which is longer and more detailed.
  5. Rear brakes won't do crap! 2012 zx10r.

    The ZX-10R
OK, so the next question is, hard hard were you pressing the pedal? What brake pads are you using? By design, the rear brakes don't provide much stopping power. You have to press the pedal to the mechanical stop to get a decent amount of force. But that's all you'll ever really get. The...

    The Out House
The new format is....new. Everything changes with time and this site is no exception. It takes some time to get used to, that's all. You see that "NEW" icon on the top row? Press that and it will show all the new and active topics since you last logged on. That should give you what you're...
  7. Quickshifters

    The ZX-10R
For a Gen 3, you can go with a Bazzaz QS. It uses ignition cut instead of fuel cut which I prefer because it is more immediate. The Woolich reflash kit still requires some sort of sensor. That's extra and the base reflash kit won't do that for that year. DynoJet makes one also, but it's fuel...
  8. Gen 5: 2016- Aim MXK10 installed

    The ZX-10R
Well, this past weekend I joined the club also! I scored a used one off of eBay that saved me some money on it and it's practically brand new. Came with 24 miles on the odometer. I can scratch it off my Xmas list now and just get used to it on the bike! It's got some cool features and some...
  9. 2019 End of Season MotoGP results Lifetime Stats

    General Motorcycle Discussions
This is an interesting stat. I've always followed MotoGP, WSBK, and AMA (MotoAmerica) in the past. But this changed in recent years. MotoAmerica only has a handful of races spread out over the year with limited coverage and no big names and up and coming riders. MotoGP was entertaining when...
  10. Gen 5: 2016- Engine Light Issue

    Performance and Tech
If the instrument cluster doesn't finish the complete self-test properly, then you have a problem with the cluster itself.
  11. 2016 zx10r KQS Kawasaki quick shift

    Performance and Tech
Yes, it's a simple setting in the software to enable the autoblip for downshifts. That, of course, is dependent on which kit you're using to reflash the ECU. The FTECU kit has this an an add-on option and the Woolich kit provides this feature integrated into it. Depends on which you're using.
  12. Brembo

    Welcome Newbies!
No, the Gen 4s (2011-2015) came with Tokico calipers and a radial master. The Brembos didn't come factory until the current model was introduced (2016+).
  13. What did you do to your bike today?

    General Motorcycle Discussions
Dang, that's cool. You do good work! Since this is the prototype though, what changes will you be making for the "final" version of it? Just a black lever? ;):p I'm not going to lie, a thumb brake like that would take awhile for me to get used to. I've always been curious as to how much...
  14. Gen 5: 2016- Gen 5 tuning questions, mainly idle

    The ZX-10R
Well, this is a hell of a thread bump! If you re-read the entire thread, you'll see that the discussion is related to mapping with the ETV settings. That is not something that is controlled by a PCV. PCVs are a thing of the past and most people don't use them any longer because of better...
  15. Sc project S1 exhaust for 2020

    The ZX-10R
You should really find some different friends. It's something that may or may not happen, but it's not an absolute. And you can't quantify that. That's why Spaz's answer was the best one. No one can tell you over the Interweb if you'll lose power any more than your friends can. The fact...
  16. Gen 5: 2016- Which exhaust

    The ZX-10R
Well, since you're soliciting opinions, I'll post mine for you. 😉 As an M4 owner myself, I'd say the GP version is the worst one they make. Not only is that think ear-splitting loud, the flat painted megaphone style does nothing for the lines on the bike. They make nice exhausts, but the GP...
  17. Sc project S1 exhaust for 2020

    The ZX-10R
That's a question you probably should've researched before buying an exhaust. It will really depend on the atmoshperic pressure at the time you install it. Do you want the power loss in English or Metric values?
  18. Gen 2, clutch not working

    The ZX-10R
Uh, you've already answered your own question on this. You broke the clutch cable. Stop screwing around with the pliers at the engagement mechanism. This would've been a quick, easy fix to just replace the broken cable. Now that you've pulled the engagement arm out of the cover, you have to...
  19. Old School: <-2004 Going from a 190/55 tire to a 190/60

    The ZX-10R
Welcome to the party Lex! So, you're a bit off with your thinking on this. Prophet is pretty accurate with his info, but not really specific enough either, so let me chime in. You have a 2005 Gen 1. That model came standard with a 190/50 rear tire. The '06 and up models switched to the...
  20. Gen 2: 2006-2007 front gear from 15 to 17... low revs and cutting off at idle

    The ZX-10R
Idle speed should be set to 1,150 +-50rpm from the factory when warmed up. It should never fall below 1,000 hot or cold. The idle-up circuit will keep it well above that when it's warming up and it should fall back to the 1,1100-1,200 range when normal.
