Nice pics Andy.

Your wife introduced herself to me and my wife in the Kawi tent on Saturday. I had a ZX10R.NET shirt on....

Also met RickRoush03, Older Guy, and Laptop/Lapdrop... Would have gone to the Kawi tent on Sunday, but the wife was having heat related issues... Damn it was hot and Sunny there!!

hey Andy, how was the traffic and the heat/ i was planning to go next year?
Dude...the heat was insane. Record breaking highs, in fact. 113* in the stands and 154* on the actual track itself. Just to give you an idea:

Saturday vendors started the weekend selling 20 ounce bottles of water for $4.00 - when the day waned on they dropped their price to $1.00/bottle then the fire department came in giving away bottles of water by the cases. I figured the county decided it's cheaper to give away free water than to deal with heat and dehydration related deaths. Was great to see the county step up like that.

Marisa and I hid underneath a bush for about an hour to try to get some shade. People were stashed in every corner of that track trying to get a small slice of shade.

Traffic going to the track wasn't bad; we parked at Cal State University and caught the shuttle to the track. The problem was leaving the race on Sunday. They obviously don't have the traffic issues figured out yet. We waited in line to catch a shuttle back to our car for 3 hours. 3 HOURS! It was nuts.

Great pics Andy! You got a dern hot wife there too! I'd love to go to one but I'm one of those types that keeps hoping some greedy, East Coast, fat cat will try and cash in on some of this MotoGP money and push for an East Coast GP. There is no reason why we couldn't have 2 in one season. Some MUCH smaller countries do. I think Barber, or even Road America would do nicely. Both may need work to support a GP event, but hey, so did Laguna.

If MC racing takes off here we should see GP races at other tracks. Spain gets what, 3 dates every year? Even if it stays only at Laguna the plane ride from DFW was only 2.5 hours which would probablly be about 3 hours for you. It's worth the trip believe me, being at the middle of the motorcycling universe for a whole weekend. We're already looking forward to next year.
