So I was all hyped to go throw the bike on the dyno and see what my numbers are before I do my last few mods that I'm hoping to gain a good chunk of hp and tq out of. I get to the shop it goes on the dyno and ... the first question after they finished was does my bike rev out on the road ?... i was like yeah it does I get a little fast jump from 8k to 13k before it starts to bounce off rev. So I ask why he asks... there response was because your bikes slipping. So my cocky kind of annoyed self goes well did you mess with the traction control ? Because I know some bikes have issues on certain dynos with certain dyno mechanics doing it. They say yes we tried messing with it. They then told me that it could me my clutch slipping.

So my question I guess is has anyone dyno'd they gen 4 and had this issue or have had your clutch slip on the dyno and it put out way less then stock numbers ? Should I just start off with replacing my springs or just go and do plates and springs all at once?

If the freeplay isn't set right on the clutch lever, you'll wear out the plates prematurely. The G4 is particularly sensitive to this and the freeplay will change slightly when the clutch is hot versus cold. If you don't have enough freeplay in the lever adjustment to account for this, then the clutch will never fully engage and it will struggle to transmit that much power which leads to the wear. If it's slipping, then the plates are worn and will need replacing. As Dricked mentioned, the springs could be worn as well and should be checked while changing them out.

It's an easy job, especially on the G4 with the clutch well above the oil sump.

Yeah I checked the manual and it's not a difficult job i was honestly thinking of getting a Barnett carbon fiber clutch plate kit for 175 and change everything all at once

how many miles? probably is the clutch though... the 4th gen clutch is garbage. If its not slipping now it definitely will be soon so i would just call cycle concepts and get there drag pack clutch. I wouldn't waste your money on anything else, they know what works best for the 4th gens. you can get stiffer springs also through them and it definitely holds now on mine.

Defiantly sounds like its slipping. Like others have suggested, adjust the lever, if that doesn't work, replace the discs. Its easy to do, took me about 45mins to do, 20mins was trying to figure out how to remove the fairings without breaking anything lol. Mine went at 7000kms due to shitty oil. Replaced with EBC discs, EBC springs and Barnett plates and it rides a lot better.

Here is a video of when it was slipping.

Had to leave 3 sessions left of the day. Came out of turn 4 and she wouldn't go. Had to putt around the track to get back to the pits. Thankfully...well not thankfully because it sucked, but someone went down hard in turn 5 and they red flagged us.
