I check for leaks and make sure everything is tight..Check all fluids, all the bike's normal functions, check the chain tention and lubed it,also check your gas tank. That's about ti for me.

chk for leaks, chk tire pressures when u come off the track so you know hot tire temps and adj as you like..top off fuel as needed, chk fluid levels, chain slack..keep bike in shaded area with a fan on the engine and if i think of it i keep gas in a cooler storage area...Make any suspension adj when suspension is hot and finally put on my tire warmers..
Get down to my skivveys, chill suck back lots of water...

yea i was told this saves on clutch life by alot of guys at the track and i stay up to par on chain maintence bc i had one fail on me on another bike at 130mph and it was a scary sight.

In between rounds I pull my oil cap and zip tie my clutch lever to let the heat out of the clutch. Check tire pressure before each round.
this is a great tip to do and i actually do this myself but leave my key down by oil filler cap so it remind me to screw the oil cap back on.

these are some great tips, what tire pressure do you run? last time i went out, i had it at 30psi, and wouldnt stop spinning, so, i dropped it to 18 and it did ok, but dropped my mph. right now its just a street tire, damn angle tire, next will be a shinko drag radial with 7 inches of stretch

Tire pressure all depends on how well the track is prepped, you want to run the most tire pressure without spinning. I have been able to get away with 26 psi on really good days, and had to drop it as low as 13 psi another day. I normally ran around 22psi on a shinko hookup when I had my 10.

If I'm bracket racing I play it on the safe side and run it lower because I can adjust my dial in.

Right before I do my Burnout I lean the bike over to the left to let the oil get in the clutch. I'm not sure how much this actually helps, but it sounds good in theory. I get almost a whole seasoning out of a clutch so I guess every little bit helps.

another lil thing i do to keep the bike cooled down between rounds is put a fan next to the clutch cover so it cools the clutch down faster and keeps the bike temp down to.
Not all of us carry fans to the track sometimes not practical........sometimes instead of loading the bike up and tracking it to the track I would sometimes after work ride to the track do high 9s or 10s flat runs and ride back home....but I usually have enough room on the way back home to pick up and carry some milk in my backpack or tank bag.

Kinda off topic, but how often do you guys change the oil in your bike when using it as a track bike...

I don't do alot of track racing, so my street/everyday bike is the one i use at the track...I would normally change every 2-3000 miles, but should i be doing it more frequently if taking bike to the track? I use Rotella T

i change mine every other track visit. saves on clutch life and keeps inside the engine nice and clean. i used to run amsoil but got really exspensive so i switched to shell rotella T like your runnin and the bike seems to like it pretty well.

dont know if i'm being a bit of a squid on this one but i've just had braided lines fitted to mine and they replaced the fluid with dot 5.1 as it has a higher boiling point which is good for track days and fast road. They said they could tell i had been riding it hard. Which made me smile!
