Hello.....yes I have searched the brake threads. I realize there are a ton of them. But I could not find the specific issue. So here it is......I have an 07 ZX10 and I just picked up a set of Galpher SS lines for the front however the stock line goes down to the front right caliper then the left side caliper line comes off from there. The SS lines instructions say to put the "doubble" banjo bolt at the M/C (front brake lever) and run the two lines down from there and also there is some grind off the stopper pin stuff. Is this the right kit or have they sent the wrong one. I am not crazy about the idea of grinding anythig off (heat on the rubber seals). Sorry for the noobish questions. Any input from people with 06-07 model's who have put Galpher lines on is greatly appreciated :bump:

Not sure what Galfer kit you have, they make several, but I can help you with some of it, obviously from the istructions you purchased a two line kit, both lines will come from the master cylinder using the double banjo. Your longer line will go to the left caliper and the shorter will go to the right, you may have to remove the line guide mounted to the tripple tree, I removed it and used a rubber coated bendable cable/hose stay I had laying around in the parts bin, I did not like the look of the bare metal cable guide rubing on my lines. As far as grinding the stops, i am assuning they mean the flat tabs on the caliper where the line and banjo fits in,i would not want to do that either, I would probably find a different set of lines if they require that, but thats just me, it probably wont hurt anything.
They could also be talking about the tab on the master cylinder. My Galfer superbike lines did not require any grinding. PM Sergio, he is on the site and is a Glafer rep, so he can definately answer any questions if you dont get answers on here.

:+1: i have a first gen, but brake lines are brake lines...no grinding on my either...the included instructions sucked...but even so, i think it took me only about 30-45 minutes to have the new lines on and bled...if they require grinding id have to pass on them...

I gave the Galfer lines on my 07 and I didn't have to grind anything. Like 9r to 10r said, double banjo goes on the master and lines run to each caliper separate. Mine didn't say anything about grinding anything. Hell, mine didn't say much at all. The years were a bit weird on my kit. Advertised for 04-06 models and my rear line says 2004 :dontknow: The rear has quite a bit of slack, but I couldn't pass up the deal

I never even seen directions with my Galfer lines, I'm not extremely pleased with them either, sure they look good but the line routing just plain sucks. I also put the banjo's on backwards, they are different by just a few degrees and I never noticed that until on the calipers.

I myself will be getting that GP kit or w/e, where it's one line from the MC to a T that splits them down in front of the forks to the calipers, good, clean looking route.

I had to grind the stopper off on the master cylinder. I wasn't wild about doing it but it wasn't a big deal. I took it off and used the grinder to do it. The metal is really soft and easy to shape. Oh and about the heat- I held the master cylinder in my hand and it never got hot enough to melt a seal. Just take care and don't rush things when taking the tab off.

Thanx for the responses  I just tried a dry fit with the lines and did not grind off the right side tab on the M/C that the instructions said would cause the banjo fittings to interfear with the brake lever switch arm and there seemed to be enough room but barely. I did not like the "fit " or routing of the lines so I think I will take them back and explore other alternatives. I think I will try the "race" lines although they seem to get mixed review's in some of the other threads. But I guess I won't know until I try them for myself.....I hate to beat a dead horse but these brakes are killin me they put me in harms way a couple of times this season and I am thinkin I might just have to drop the cash on a full system for the spring:headshake
