I thought I'd try to save 5 minutes changing my air filter over the week-end by not completely removing the tank.
I propped the front of the tank up with a few rags, and with a 90' screwdriver, was able to get the airbox top off, and inserted the new air filter element.
Going to put back in the left-rear screw, it was a tight fit and... drop.
The screw fell into the bike... somewhere.
Shit.
So I go ahead and take the tank off, and start looking. And looking.
I pull the bike into the middle of my street, angle it so I have maximum Sun angle.
Use my brightest flash light.
Go fishing with one of those magnetized telescoping sticks.
I took off my front-sprocket cover, thinking maybe it'd worked it's way into there.
I can't freaking find it. It did not fall on the garage floor.
So, it's in a crevasse, somewhere.
I'm pretty resolved to just let it sit where ever it is, order a new screw, and chalk it up to being an idiot trying to save time.
But before I button it back up with the hideaway, the thought of it somehow sneaking into my front sprocket and locking up the drivetrain gives me pause.
Suggestions or ideas?
