Bike is at the dealer...

The tech called and said small pieces of my clutch basket got wedged in the crank shaft. Labor and part looking at $2000. Said gears look bent too.

Said there are small pieces in the motor and they would need a full tear down not just the oil pan. In order to guarantee the work. Said I am better off with new motor.

Tech said he can get the bike running but can't guarantee nothing is gonna fall back into the motor because some small piece of metal is stuck somewhere...

Repairs would be $2500 so he said better off getting a new motor.

I may find a motor and I was told $600 to install...

So that's my situation...

I may buy a motor and have it installed... I love this bike I am just trying to see if it makes financial sense to fix it...

Oh, come on vr6. Replacing the motor is an easy DIY job. Find a new motor for cheap and do the job yourself in about 8 hours. I know you can do it. Even if you need to buy the motor mount special tool, it's like $40. That's way better than $600 for an easy job like that. I have faith in you.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

Ridding the Internet of bad grammar, 1 post at a time.

Thanks for the motivation bro!

Never knew how much I liked my bike...

That bike has fought a lot of battles, s1000rr, BUSA, R-1, GSXR, streched drag bikes, etc. Well respected and well known. Been all over with that thing; 38,349 miles... and 189MPH on the dash on several occasions...

I never backed down to any other bike or rider... I felt so confident on that bike!

wooo is meee... my beloved praying mantis is seriously injured...

It's the only bike I felt attached too...

gotta fix the beast

you dont even need the tool. i did mine without it. motors are cheap and its really not to hard swapping it out. i would just do that. if you can get one with the cluster so they match! but if not whatever. i loved my gen 3. a new engine isnt the end of the world
