That is very typical. No one test rides anything unless cash is in hand. You typically work the deal, exchange money, and write into the bill of sale a 30 min return policy. Something like that. I won't let anyone test ride a bike without money in my hand.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

They cannot give me the money fast enough.

Thats the way I do it, no test rides without cash in my hand. They drop the bike I keep the cash they keep the bike. I was surprised with the last two bikes that I have sold that the buyer didn't want to have a test ride. Both bikes were mint though.

Plus a million. I was put into a ridiculous situation after a dude smashed into the side of a car with my bike he was test riding. Fourtnatly he was a good guy and made it right.....cash in hand and bill of sale before you even sit on it.

Yeah, when I buy a bike all I do is talk to the owner and feel out the situation. If there is ANYTHING that makes me raise an eyebrow, I'm gone. If the bike looks good, sounds decent when running and I can see no issues with it, it's cash in hand, thank you and good bye! If their house looks crappy and they drive a '95 Neon with faded and peeling paint, I RUN! Lol!!
