My first bike was a 1980 CX500 Honda, then in 1982 a Kawasaki GPz750, been Kawi every day of my life ever since.

My Gen 3 and H2 will be my last Kawasakis.

0 Complaints in 37 years. BUT,.....time to try something different.

Fed up? Absoloutely not! Burnt out? Afraid so.
You sound like a long term married guy that want to try something new.

new rsv4 1100 factory is gonna be pretty awesome. the bar keeps being raised basically, it's hard to be unhappy with any liter bike for whatever the price nowadays, the 15k price point bikes are fantastic, and the 20k+ bikes are just spectacular

Shut up and ride.

All i cam say is test ride before buying.
Ive tested the rsv4 factory and the s1000rr sport.
Put it this way i am keeping my r1!
Both bikes were not what i was expecting.
I swear alot of reviews are not realistic.
Maybe realistic reviews are boring and wont get you as many hits on youtube!.
I will go into detail if required but not now. Im off out lol

If i was to replace the zx10r it would be the R1 even with the crank problem. Bmw is nice but expensive, dont even get me started about aprilia and their valvetrain or crank problems. The new GSXR is really nice but just not attracted to it. Honda is still playing the waiting game.

All bikes have had some issues. Zx10r and gearboxes for example. But generally most modern bikes are fairly reliable. My dad has a tuano 1100 and as yet its very reliable. My local yamaha dealer has said that the only real issues theyve had with the r1 is camshafts due to drying out of oil when left on side stand for some time and then started and left on tickover still on side stand. Ideally they need standing straight up and blipping the throttle to build up oil pressure

You are definitely not wrong. Still catastrophic engine failure shouldn't be something someone has to worry about until they are pushing the limits of the machine. The Tuono tends to last longer because of the detune but my 13 rsv4 spun a rod bearing at just 6k miles then the dreaded retainer problem and dropped a valve a few thousand miles after the bearing. Its not just a fluke either it happens to majority of them along with no support from aprilia.

BMW needs a new platform, the R1 is ugly as fuck, I can't even look at the front without a cringe, a fish on wheels. The Aprilia is overweight, reliability is like gambling, been the same model for years. The Gixxer is way overpriced, comes with a gameboy dashboard and tractor flashers and looks really gixxer alike! Ducati is for the Starbuck queers with Dainese super thigh leathers that put 500 KMs a year on the rear tire, The Fireblade has no character at all, just another pile of shit Honda with no soul, way underpowered with nice welds lol. There is nothing out there that just trigger me, that get me pumped to go buy it. The sportbike scene is bland as fuck.

The 2004-2005 was the almighty unicorn from Kawasaki. It just went downhill from there.
