Tips for bad prep track?

Going to look around and try to find more information but thought I may get better information in a post while I still look.

But anyways, I went to the local 8th, only track in a few hours, couldn't get the bike to hook up at all! Was really making me mad, bikes 64" with a shinko hook up that's not very old, 5 passes and some street riding. I did notice that my boots weren't sticking to the track at all like they did previously when I was running 5's so obviously the track was slick.

So just curious if there is anything I could do to still run fast or am I screwed and just have to hope upon them prepping it good when I go. My tire pressure was down to like 10psi or so tried short burnouts monster burnouts always lean it over on each side and then the middle.

But the best I could do on my last pass was 1.53 60' 3.97 330', same as I did when I did my 5.88 pass, but I was still spinning on this pass hooked on my 5.88. Couldn't run full passes as tech had a talking with me when I sand bagged my first run trying not to run too fast without nhra lic lol. But the last one I did a monster burnout, launched spun some hooked then just ripped loose again in first.

So any advice or anything that well help me improve my 60' and 330' or it is what it is can't run good times on shitty track no matter what I do.

Just aggravating I was really trying for 5.6x-5.7x temp was lower and thought I could do it n the bike ran great but not when i can't hook.

and sometimes it helps if you can walk out to the starting line and see where your foot sticks more. You don't want all the shiney shit. You want to be in the groove but usually just to the inside or outside of the groove it will hook best. If you can follow a slick car. Lining up in the right spot is just as important as tire pressure.

10psi in shinko hookup maybe it was too low? I tried going on the left groove of the right lane it was at night but it had been upper 80's in the day, had just got to night time first pass was at 9:30pm I wanna say upper 70's outside temp sunny day.

There was very few cars that night but I also didn't see them run the tractor or whatever to do any prep on it at all from 9-11. Then again not sure how it all works either.

Heck I went right after their big long ass dragster went and he couldn't get any traction at all either but even right after that thing same lane nothing would work. Had the bike strapped down. Does it matter where I do my burnout, obviously outside water box tho. Seemed like tire was def getting some traction in the burnout had to grab more front brake.

I also got some new alpinestars sp1 gloves, has the ring to pinky finger bridge that's really throwing me off on my left hand, anybody hear of just cutting the bridge lol. I don't exactly have big hands and the clutch is heavy but i've always used three fingers and kept pinky on grip, can't do it with these gloves. >.<

When we have a shit track I usually take a thou out if my launch drop to 12psi in the hook up hold the clutch a touch longer and get out side where all the street cars have killed the track and when all else fails soften the dhoch

What was the temp? A lot of people say the shinkos not that great a tire in the cool weather, friends gsxr spins with the shinko. Put a power one on and fixed it right up.

Tracks never stay the same, you have to adjust to it. Change tire pressure, change suspension settings, change launch rpms, change clutch engagement time, etc.
