Suspension and gearing ????'s

What's up guys wasn't sure to post this here or in suspension section but I figured here bc it's for drag racing. I have an 08 zx10r sitting right about 64" boltons, full exhaust and geting it tuned in 89 and mr12. Brocks clutxh mod and drag pack are in the mail. Right now I'm -1+4 and lowered about 2" in front also strapped and lowered about 3 in the rear. Use the bike mostly for 1/4 mile and I'm about 170 suited. I've tried to read about the visa shock but I dont know jack about suspension and setting it up. Will I benifit at all from the visa shock or will I be able to mess with mine to get it set up right for me? I'm trying to avoid dropping a bunch of money in an aftermarket shock.

Depends of what your looking to do but the stock shock should work ok go to full soft on compression and rebound and then dial some in depending how the bike feels. I geared my drag bike to hit redline thru the traps in 5th gear. It would run consistant 8.90s at 153 mph for the super comp index.

Man truthfully you really should have someone video you from behind so you can see how much your shock is working. I had to add preload to mine when I was at 62 inches, but that could have been because I had a 2nd gen arm on my 1st gen. You really want your compression set soft and rebound set hard so it'll squat and stay there. Some guys like going -1+4 but I had good luck with -2+2. When you sit on your bike how much does it move? Does it feel squishy?

I found that setting the rebound at full hard caused the rear wheel to rebound to quickly causing wheel hop and loss of traction but I was running a stock length swingarm.

Essentially setting compression soft and rebound hard should make your bike squat and rebound slow. As long as your sag is set right. I had my 10 full soft on compression and half a turn out from full hard
On rebound and it worked really well for me.
