So I may be on Speed TVís Pass Time

I just got an email stating that I may have the opportunity to be a contestant. Iím still trying to figure out if that means I would be riding/racing or if I would be guessing times.

Please help me with advice on launching the bike and parts. If I am racing I am planning on getting lowering straps for the front and going down one tooth in the front. I donít have a huge budget or a lot of time but I want to appropriately represent the 10 on national TV!

Any information, books, or websites about racing classes ect. would also be very helpful so I can brush up on that should I end up guessing times.

Awesome! I love that show. I am thinking that being a contestant means that you will be one of the 3 people trying to guess the times and not actually racing. As far as recommendations, I would just search 1/4 mile times posted online to get an idea of what different riders are running with a range of bikes and mods. If you don't already regularly go to the strip, now would be a good time to go and start guessing bike and car times unless it is a bike only show that you will be on. Since you only get to ask one question on that show per car/bike, if no one else asks before you, I would always find out how many times the driver/rider has raced at the strip. As you know, the rider's experience is the best indicator of how fast they will get down the track. Keep us posted as to when it will be on.

I'll let you all know more once I find out more. Looks like it will be taped next month in NC. Let me know what you all think the biggest "bang for the buck" parts will be to lower 1/4 mi times.

Cool. I love when stupid people are trying to guess the times, it's hilarious. For example, a car will plainly display a S/G sticker on the side (indicating Super Gas, a 9.90 index NHRA class) and the person will guess 11's...

Let us know if you are riding or guessing when you find out.

10R_Havens - Did you drop your shocks in the triple in the front or did you just strap them? I'm trying to figure out if I want to strap the front or just drop the tubes. Guess I will get a lowering link for the back too.... and a new kick stand so I can park it lol.
