Single front brake

This winter I'm looking to do some weight reduction and probably gonna lose a front rotor I know it's not much but rotational weight its something better than nothing. Looking into a light weight battery and maybe a set of bst's if I can get myself to pull the trigger. I do street ride a little big but usually put less than 500 miles a year on just easy street riding no street racing. The guys who only run one how do you like it? And any other weight saving ideas I'm open to listen to. (Also I am aware that braking will change so I don't need to hear that)

I use to run a single disk on my super comp drag bike never had any problems. I did get some fade when hauling it down from 150 plus mph but always had enough power to get it stopped.

pulled front rotor, caliper, swapped to lithium battery on 07, lost 13 lbs. change to jri shock 4 more lost over busa shock. bike before weighed 410 on digital scales at cup race with a little gas. reweigh this coming wknd at race. pretty accurate rule of thumb is 20 lbs = one tenth.

Thanks guys. Gaz that's what I thought it was 20 lbs = .1 I'm trying to get into the 8s next spring still foot shifting. I have the whole set up to run co2 but trying to save weight it doesn't make sense to do all this then Stick a 20oz bottle and ad the weight right back so I think I'm gonna sell the regulator and buy a compressor and use the built in tank in my arm. I was only able to get out twice this year so I was a little disappointed.

You might be surprised to find the bike harder to ride hard off the line by taking weight off the front wheel (i.e., removing a rotor). I actually picked up 2 tenths by adding 10# to my front axle. No way would I pull a rotor and move the CG back...WHERE the weight is will be more important than how much you take off. Just keeping your legs bent in front of your body rather than dragging them behind you is worth a tenth or two as well.

I decided not to pull one rotor on my 14, but I will tell you, the ONLY thing that ever concerns me when riding a bike with one rotor is burnouts. When the track is hot and your tire is hot, it wants to push the front REALLY bad when doing a burnout. That could just be the heavier weight of the bikes I was riding too. Just wanna give you a heads up.

Thanks guys, actually fort about this post. I decided to leave it on. Need to work on my 60' more I decided. Still trying for 8's and I've been in the high 1.5's and best of 9.2x mostly 9.3 passes so once I get my 60' in the 1.4x I'll look at making changes to help out.
