people running a 15t front sprocket?

Im currently 16/45 (-1+4) on my 08zx10. sits about 63" im 175 suited and mostly race at an 1/8 mile track. i was looking at puting a 15 tooth on the front since i have pleanty of gear left ovbiously by the end of the 1/8 mile. my question is, is there anything that i can hurt buy running only a 15 tooth sprocket? or what other combo has worked for you guys for the eight mile? i know the gearing question has been beaten like a dead horse but looking for input from track guys! thanks

man i wouldn't go down that far on the front yea your gonna get through the gears faster , but you are gonna have to leave the bike on kill, and it will destroy your 60 ft imo'' tried it and all i did was actually loose et due to the 60 i would put 1-2 more on the rear

Also the smaller the front sprocket the more you will wear your chain. Check the link out very helpful if you didn't already know, also gives you wear ratings/contact of chain to teeth formula. You'll defiantly go through chains "faster".

people running a 15t front sprocket?

I've been running a 15 front on all my 10s for years never had a single problem. I was very nervous about doin it at first because of the gsxr horror stories. Zx is also correct about the 60ft times my daily rider that the slips are on the other post had 15/45 or 15/44 depending on the weather and track. She's a beast for a stock lil bike if u got the clutch hand blue u will luv the bigger gear 60 ft that thing better on the rear tire than u do with the front now trust me get the 15 front

Thanks guys again... Looks like I'll pick pick one up and give it a whirl when it finally warms up here in Michigan! Probably pick up a set of straps -2+4 might be a handful sitting at 63" and lowered 3/1.5

well good luck with that gearing i hope you don't do more street riding than drag racing cause your buddies gonna run off and leave you behind on top end you gonna be running out of rpm quick they never told you that little tid bit i was just looking out for ya did the 2 down before and it sucks for street but clearly everyone has there own preferences best of luck
