how much will a 530 chain affect my time

I orded a 150 link 520 ZZZ and got it in the mail a few weeks ago and pretty much put it away b/c i was in the middle of a move. and went to look at it the other day and noticed it was a 530 and not a 520. My question is how much will the difference in weight affect my 1/4 mile time? if any?

hey man you probly wouldnt see that much of difference between your times if anything slight weight difference. the 530 would probly be better choice over the 520 since its stronger.

same concerns. just replaced 530 dr2 no o ring race chain with 530 drz2 no o ring chain both 150 link. 500 lb diff. in strength. well known race shop also told me weight diff. would be slight, go with stronger chain, not true, 1 lb. heavier from 8 to 9 lb chain alone. this is a lot of chain weight for a 1k, about twice the weight of original stk. length chain. believe this chain is overkill on 07 nitrous ten as rider is smooth and launches at 6k. regret not sending it back. curious what your chain weighs? weigh it against your old one for perspective. can't answer your et question, but more reciprocating weight absorbs more power, what racer wants to lose any et unecessarily. consider power output and launch style in your decision.

I don't know f'sho never tried back to back tests but from a logical point of view less weight and rotating mass it should help with the 520 how much is the question I suspect up to 3hp loss maybe a little more with the other......for drag racing you would probably have to be so consistent to even notice the change in times though

using couple of different hp/weight calculators to estimate et, 575 total weight, 175 hp, a 3 hp loss results in calculated .04-.05 et loss.

Good Choice 1000CC bikes doing over 140mph .04-.05sec is a good advantage all things being equal so quicker to the Finish Line but you can make that time up on a quicker launch as well when racing.

Had no idea it was cool to drag on a stretched bike with a 520. Thought it was too dangerous? Clue me in.
