First time to the track

Well I finally went to the track for the first time ever, must of been bad luck cause my bike caught on fire and blew up on the way home... But it was an alright time at the track, couldn't seem to get my darn 60' to where I wanted it so that part sucked all night. Hopefully when I get a new g4 again I can get better times. I may of ran to often, not sure how often I can run the bike without owning the clutch? The last two runs I strapped it, bikes only lowered 1" 3/4 exhaust ecu reflash air filter tune and running n/a.

It was fun that there wasn't many people there, wish I didn't have to wait so much for the clutch to cool down, still not sure how long I should wait between passes. I just am not sure what I need to do to improve on my 60'. Maybe im to slow out on the clutch but it wheelies some too.

Only other thing I thought of is this, I was running my tire at like 35psi cold, from when i was riding in the cold, so maybe it was breaking loose a little but trac/wheelie control fixed that so I didn't notice? The 6.53 run it felt like the wheel was bouncing the whole run down. Or maybe just stock gearing first is to long to get a real good 60'?

Yea I had full coverage ill get another gen4 as soon as i get a check.

As much as I would like to congrats you I think it shows how awesome a Gen 4 bike is because your new to drag racing with that said you only weigh 140lbs that's huge but the #s are great it took me many years Stock Wheelbase to go that fast on my old Gen 10R but then again I weigh over 215lbs geared. I wish you well hope you get another soon.

bloo

Nice times and mph ! im swb between runs i let the clutch cool down atleast 15-20 min between runs. lil trick i do is unscrew the oil cap and ziptie the clutch lever against the grip so air can enter between the plates helps keep them clutches cool and last longer. sucks to hear about your bike but good to hear you had full coverage and gettin another one.

Well there was another guy that I kept hearing would beat me on his g4 that was running 7.4's and eventually got a 7.1 lol. Alot of people ran really slow, I ran close to a handful of stretched bikes, within a few tenths.

When I get another bike and go down to the track ill try the clutch thing, insurance guy will look at it monday so who knows how long it'll take to get a check, told ill get paid for aftermarket shit aswell by my old insurance guy so we shall see.

I think with a little bit of coaching to get my 60' down I could be low 6's swb, maybe even if I had a lower bike, mine was only 1-1.5".

I think I am just to slow on the very start, I tried having the clutch just at the point to where I hold the bike back with a tiny bit of effort and launching at closer to 5k strapped but I was probably to slow on the very first amount of letting it out, cause im WOT once I move.

Idk I don't dig race a whole lot and I now have only 6 runs down the track. If I lowered it like 3" or so, strapped, and maybe went -1 and got some coaching on the clutch release I bet I could. I think i was just going to slow on the very first part of clutch release. Heck I started the night at 6.7 and ended at 6.5 in a matter of a few passes with the bike pretty hot.

But there's only one way to tell, when I get another g4 ill go down there and run it. I'm not talking 6.1 btw lol I'm saying closer to 6.3 range, which I know will take time but I don't think it would take me "a lot" of seat time relatively speaking compared to other people.

I went there saying id run 6.5 and I did so I met my goal for the night, except the bike blowing up. Just wish I had video of the track so y'all could help me out.
