525 or 530 zzz chain on my gen 1

so i have a 525 zzz chain on my 10 now and was at 12 over.

now i went 14 over and adding a 40 shot. i was told i needed to step up to a 530 setup. just checking with the pros before i spend the money to make a switch. the bike went 5.82 last year and shooting for 5.50's or so this year

Steel rear for sure, I have aluminum now and after a handful of launches the teeth are thinning. As far as the chain goes, just check the tensile strength difference and if it's not a drastic difference go with the 525

I always run steel rear sprockets and as far as the chain, if you're putting down alot of power to the ground an the bike is set up for the strip then maybe a 530 would be better but a good quality 525 will fair well to i think, especially if you have on already. cause IF you swap the chain then you'll have to do both sprockets to 530 as well.

.
.
Take a risk, and you may lose. Never risk, and you will always lose.

Since u'll already be hauling ass the nitrous won't be a drastic strain on the chain like it will be when u launch, but if u worried go with the 530. Only benefits are the weight savings which are pretty minute anyway

525 would probably be fine, but I personally would go 530. I've seen what a broken chain can do, and its not pretty.

wow, I have no experience with the strip and nos, but as mentioned, steel sprockets for a budget racer would definitely be on the setup. A good quality 525 chain though has lasted me a couple yrs now on the road course stuff, so checking the stretch of it may be more beneficial for you, since that is common maintenance anyways. I am curious now on your findings.

hahaha, ok, my smartass comment is now behind me.

edit: On the chain and sprocket thing, I have been using the supersprox with DID gold chain to add to my previous post.
