WSMC #616 Novice...

I ran my first Novice race today, and let me just say "OMFG"

Talk about butterflies after waiting 7 hrs to think about it, and then lining up with 20 Hungry little novices (half were first timers) I thought I was gonna throw up.

I got grid #24 (last row) which was a relief and figured I would just follow everyone and call it a day.

I don't no what happend when that flag dropped, But I got a great launch! The next thing I see is a bike to the left of me cartwheeling... I think I was 8th coming out of turn one with a big red flag in my face.

Well they sent us back to the pits, and our race was put on hold while they carted the guy away. (Hope he is OK)

They called us back for a restart. I think everyone turned it down a notch because we had a picture perfect start. (except now I was in 16th after turn one)

Well the butterflies were gone, and I went to work! I passed 6 guys in our short but sweet race (6 laps) and had a great time. (7hrs of waiting followed by 12 minutes of sheer terror)

So I had to settle for 10th out of 20. I must say though I am hooked. I can see its gonna be a long road to a plastic trophy finish, but I am on my way.

Is it July yet!!!!

Congrats Katoom It's great to hear. Do you know what kind of times you were running (race pace)?

Thanks Sukutto, My best lap was a pitiful 1:37. I run 1:34s all day long on track days.

I got me some work to do....

By the way the winner was running in the 1:32 range.

The fastest lap of the day was 1:22 or there abouts
