first track day done, addiction intact

well, i'm hooked. went to thunderhill on april 2 for my first track day. the 10 was awesome! the track kicks ass, turn 5 will catch ya napping for sure. i started in c group, and got moved to b group after lunch. never came close to draggin the knee, but i was able to carry quite a bit of corner speed, i think. the day was put on by pacific track time, they are an outstanding orginization. my little sis is a regular with her boyfriend at ptt days, so she whopped my ass around the track. all in all it was a great day. i love my new pilot power 2ct tires (180 rear). and i had my suspension set up by the guy at the track. turns out i had NO sag in the rear. he said i had foam sag, all the sag i felt was the foam in the seat! after he tuned it, it was a differen t bike. i've never been able to use the power of this bike out of the corners because the back end would pogo around and slide out. now i can ride the throttle much harder on corner exit. i highly recommend you guys have your suspension set up professionaly if you havent! anyways, i had a blast, and i'm to cheap to buy the pics so you'll have to check em out at the link below. i'm on the magma 05 with the red axo suit. my buddy that i went with is on the orange/black 636, and my sis is the one passing me in the pics, on the #105 suzuki 750. hit up the track if you havent, its the only way to get the most out of this bike!

Way back in the 70's and 80's when I was racing, I was too cheap to buy the photos. Bear in mind that we didn't have the quantity or quality of photos to choose from (film sorta limits that). Now, I greatly regret not buying them when I had the chance. I used to think, "I will get them next time or the next. There will be plenty of time to get them later." Well, eventually, I ran out of time later and now I don't have them. Years from now, when you are telling your friends about your heroic exploits. About the time you really got out on the track and lived life on the edge. If you don't have the pics, instead of admiring you, they will just think you are a big poser. Besides, the photos are only a small percentage of the money you spent to go to the track day. And they validate the rest of the money you spent. BUY THE PICS, NOW.

BTW, glad you had fun. It certainly can be addicting.

Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is already made up.

Glad you had fun. Riding these bikes on public roads is like a lion in a zoo, riding these bikes on the track is like putting the lion on the safari.
