Replace swing arm, is it simple?

3 week owner here. Ready for 600 mile service. Unfortunately the sealed battery leaked on to the swing arm and it went unnoticed until I saw what looked like bird crap on the swing arm. How simple is it to replace the swing arm on the zx10r? Between the thought of going without my baby for a couple of weeks while Kawa rep evaluates the bike and a lack in confidence of any service tech to correctly swap out the swingarm, I've got a bad case of the shakes going on. Please tell me this is a just simple operation.

Pretty easy. Except for pulling the chain off. I did it in my garage with my brother and it was my first time working on the 10.

If you take your time and have the proper tools then you should be able to swap out the swingarms in a few hours or so. an extra set of hands wouldn't hurt either. best of luck man and just take your time.

Thanks guys. You all make it sound pretty simple so I decided to trust the shop mechanic to take care of it under warranty. She's only 3 weeks old. First time I've seen a sealed battery leak.

I thought you were doing it yourself to keep it out of the shop for weeks? kinda defeats the purpose of asking how hard it is and long it takes to remove IF someone else is going to do it and it's still under warranty right? or no? main thing is you're getting it fixed, you'll be back on the road before ya know it man....

It's a trust issue.

i would try to have the shop do it and see if they will replace the bike while it is out. shops can be funny about the warenty stuff. it is an easy swap if you decide to tackle it but just make sure you have all the info first. good luck bro and welcome to the family
