New member. Researching for a new liter bike.

Hello, I'm looking forward to get a new (to me) liter bike, so I registered here to know more about the beautiful ZX10R.

My previous bike (already sold) was a 2012 S1000RR. A lot of changes since 2012. Electronics got better, and some bikes come stock with ohlins, brembo and forged wheels.

I'll try to get a one owner-low miles from 2015 or 2016.

Cheers

Interested in knowing about how reliable the ZX10r is, and if there are some years or versions to avoid for known problems.

If you're looking for all the new tech check out the 2016+ zx10r's
I just recently went from an 05 zx10r(first generation of them) to a 2017 and it's night and day! As far as I know, no rampant problems with the gen 5s since they're basically a more refined gen 4 from my understanding

What are you using the bike for? Street? Track? Racing?

It'd be mainly street rides, no commuting, some track days.

wow! 12 years on the same bike! That must have been such a change. A whole revolution went on in the middle. I bet you're stoked with the '17.

I put about 4k miles per year between street and track days. About 10 track days per year. I don't race and don't commute on the bike.
