New gen 3 rider from Midwest!

Hey everybody! My name is Brett and I'm from Michigan. Where most people were trailering snowmobiles yesterday, I was trailering a 2009 zx10r :). Found one with 7200 miles, show room condition and completely stock for $6100! I've seriously never seen a bike in such clean shape. Looked like it came right off the showroom floor :) very very excited!!!

Little bit about my bike past, I've owned (2) Suzuki gsxr 750 before. My first was a 2006 750 when I was 19 years old. And my second was a 2005 750 that I just sold last year. Loved both bikes and had no complaints. I was looking for a k5 1000 (2005) but had no luck. Then saw this deal and figured I might as well jump on it! Heck I was even almost close to purchasing a cruiser! But at 27 years old, I feel I have a little more time to do that.

I do have some future mod plans. Besides doing the first oil change and filter change, I've been looking long and hard for an exhaust that fits my taste. I was close to the m4, but honestly think I am going to do the racefit growler. I see motomummy sells them, and did research here seeing they are a racefit dealer in the states. Also in the cards will be a rear fender delete of some sort, pazzo shorty race levers, and then really just enjoy the bike as much as possible. Maybe a possible resprocket. But I might as well enjoy the bike first:)

Any info on oil type, brand, rear fender ideas, etc is more than appreciated. This is a new beast for me, and I'm looking forward to it. As well as learning more and more that I can!

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the party!

Best color scheme for the gen 3!

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

Honestly, ive always wanted to try that and that sounds like to good of a deal to pass up! I appreciate the information on that! Also, I am still on the fence with the m4 street slayer as a choice. I really like the looks of that, so to hear a review is helpful!

Thanks everyone for the welcome! Beautiful bikes being posted!

Schmidt!

Great looking Gen3!

Most of if not all of your questions can be found using search, and the guys here have top shelf knowledge on anything else.
