Thanks for the welcome. So no big plans for it yet. Right now I’m focusing to get the suspension adjusted to where I feel more confident with the bike. I’m 6’ at 225 pounds with all the equipment so I’m on the heavy side 🙂. I still debating the new tires between Pirelli Corsa II or Rosso 3 and soon a Akrapovic slip on

You can never go wrong with Arko, it's just really expensive! Seems like a lot of people on here, including myself, are very happy with the Graves system for a fraction of the price. The CAT definitely has to go though (weight reduction bro). Brock's Predator and Alien Head slip-ons are also a fraction of the price, sound amazing, and are proven to give you sweet gains. You can also customize the Alien Heads. I would ship the ECU to Brock's and have them flash it too with all the $$ you saved by not buying that Akro.

In terms of the suspension someone recently made a post (weighing about the same as you) who's looking to DIY-upgrade his suspension. Might be something worth following to see how his results are. My guess is you're definitely not going to get far on the stock suspension though because you likely weight 20%+ more than Kawi's target weight.

When in doubt... send it!

Hi Ddipaola

I took a look to the grave systems and indeed look like a great option and better price :). With the suspension I tried the settings from the other post and what I found out is that for the first 10 to 15 min of riding it works great but once oil heat up the front became to bouncy specialty in the front. I will post my results on the suspension post.

Thank you for the grave recommendation. The only thing is that I will need to stick with slip-on for now because if I put a full exhaust and flash the ecu the dealer told me it will get the bike out of warranty :(.

I too have picked up a new 18' 10R this year and was worried about the warranty. Then the next day I ordered a 3/4 system, BMC filter, and sent out my ECU haha. If an issue does come up that I actually need the dealer to fix something (very little faith in my local shop) I could always flash back to stock and bolt on the cat. To be perfectly honest tho, the gains were noticeable but very hard to truly feel a difference on the street.

Love the KRT colors by the way and hope it brings as much joy to you as it does for me! Oh and make sure your recall has been done for tranny!

You can get just as many gains with a slip-on now-a-days as you can with a full exhaust. Kawi did a good job on the stock headers to run them with an aftermarket! Even Brock's, who's flagship products are his exhausts, admits that the engineers now-a-days do some crazy (good) things to regulate exhaust fumes and move the air out the engine. Graves sells both a cat-eliminating and cat-back slip-on depending on what you wanna do. The cat back will take you 10 min to get on and off. The cat-elim will take about 45 min after removing the cables & stuff. Food for thought. The OEM CAT and muffler are slip on (vs welded) so no cutting is necessary.

I'm not sure if flashing the ECU would void the warranty, I would look into it. If you are able to flash though the most reliable big-name guys to play it safe are Shnitz, Brocks, ACE Perf, & Don Guhl. All those guys work together to turn these bikes into beasts. Shnitz has proven 190hp+ with a slip-on and stock filter so that might be your best bet. You'll notice the power. Flashing and an exhaust can open up 40+HP! We're talking 20%+ more power & 12%+ more torque if that's what you're into. FYI there's some recalls on these bikes out there too. A CCT and the transmission recall. Just makes sure your VIN isn't affected and you're good to go. Your dealer likely fixed those before selling the bike though; it would be stupid of them not to... but definitely check because some idiot on here blew off the re-call and then blew-up his transmission. dead serious.

When in doubt... send it!
