I found this site a week ago......

I found this site about a week ago and man its awesome! I bought an 04 zx10 last november and only got one good ride in before i had to shut her down for the winter... not only that but i've spent the last five months in AZ so I havent even seen her in a while! god I miss her!

Anyway the experience I had when I bought it was far from great. I've worked in the industry for about four years now and know the ins and outs along with being on the other side of the counter. Long story short, when the dealer serviced it they put the incorrect screws in to hold the side covers on and drove them into my gas tank. Sweet! So i called them up and they'd said they'd take care of it. I started the bike up to bring it back to the shop and then smoke started to pure out of my front fairing! It slowed a little so i just said forget it and rode it to the shop. They said i was priority and they'd take care of it. Two months later......I get my bike back. I havent seen it yet because iv been in AZ. but my buddy says that the tank looks good and that you cant tell its been fixed. The only problem im havin is that the bike is still smokin when you first start it! What the F! I guess i'll have to fix it when I get back in two weeks. Im hopin that its just the o-ring on the oil filter that weeping on the header and then burning.

Anyone out there have a similar problem like this? Any info would be much appreciated.

What's going on with these dealers...same thing happend to a bud that bought a new 10...dealers installed the wrong screws...lucky for him I noticed it and no puncture...I found the real screws holding the cover behind the seat.

Take the fairings off when you get back and see where it is coming from...

oh ....and
