Hello from the Philippines

Hey guys, I'm really excited. Just bought an 05 zx10r for a cheap price (considering i'm in the Philippines. So far it has:

Steel braided brake lines
New adjustable levers
New rubber grips
Yoshimura trioval exhaust
Steering damper
Seat cowl
K&n filter
2 extra oil filters
2 extra brake pads

I got the bike for 285k ($1 = 45 pesos), but they usually go for 350k-400k over here. And best of all, the bike only has around 15,000km on it. I just wished it wasn't green. Lol

So this will be my 3rd bike, if you count my yamaha 110cc scooter. My first big bike was a zx7r, I didn't ride it that much, the moment i bought it, it had so many things that needed fixing like the floats, front left fork leak, wirings, rusty pipes, and etc. And now someone is gonna buy it from me so i bought this zx10r.

Any advice aside from "Don't die." And "you're stupid for buying a zx10r as a newbie."?

Welcome to the boards. Upgrade the front brakes their crap. Get some nissin calipers off and 08 or later ZX6R or 14. Then get a Brembo master off a late model R1 and you will have the best brakes ever. Good luck be safe.

Thanks guys. I hope the weight distribution on this is better than the zx7r, the 7r was pretty hard to move around when not running. I'm around 5'11" but it was hard to flat foot.

With regards to the brakes, i'll give it a few rouns first then i'll see if i need to immediately change it or use it for now and change it sometime in the future. I don't think i got enough roads to run more than 160km/hr anyways.

Also, any advice on gears that would look good on a gen 1 and doesn't make me look like a space astronaut that's about to explore Uranus? :P

Ok boys and girls, the bike's here(yay), it looks gorgeous, feels a lot lighter than my zx7r, looks to be a bit smaller as well. Problem is, it starts, but as soon as you let go of the throttle, it dies... Any advice on this? :(
