Back to my roots

Well here it is 2006 and I find my self comeing back to my motorcycle roots. Let me take you back a bit. The year is 1986 Kawasaki has just come out with the new ZX-6 Ninja, the most advance 600cc supersport motorcycle on the market. This bike is a marvel of engineering, Its faster, lighter, and more aerodynamic then any machine previous and it has looks to boot. Now fast forward several years when im 16 years old and im working for a tow truck company. I cant remember what year it is because when your that young years seem to blend together and time seems to move so fast. I head to work one saturday morning and I see a ton of sport bikes heading for Angeles Crest Highway here in southern California, all I can think about is "God what I wouldnt give to be on a bike and running the crest with these guys" any way I get to work and all of those thoughts disapear as the daily grind begins of changing tires, unlocking cars, giveing people gas because they forgot to stop at the station and fill up. Its a long tiring day and I cant wait for it to end so I can start my saturday night. Right as my day is winding down and im finishing all of my paperwork my dispatch receives a call from the California Highway Patrol to send a truck to pick up a motorcycle on the 210 freeway for impound. Im not thinking to much about it since this was a fairly normal call for us lots of people in the area would either wash out in the crest pushing them selves much further than the abilities they possesed or didnt have the proper license to ride a bike in the first place. Well we send a guy out and he's gone for ruffly 15 mins before he returns and low and behold what does he have on the back of his flat bed, a 1986 Kawi ninja ZX-6 well god theres no way I can leave now I tell my self this driver is going to need all kinds of help unloading the bike and writing up the report (Plus you know I just had to take it for a spin around the block). So after this I question the driver that picked up the bike, he tells me the guy was arrested for a few warrants and probally wouldnt be out in time to claim the motorcycle so it will probally go up for auction at the end of 30 days. Well to end this part of the story quickly Ill just say that 45 days and two hundred dollars later I was the new owner of this 86 ninja. Well through out the next few years I sold this bike and purchased a few others slowing moving away from Kawasaki due to theyre lack of new and improved cosmetics. I know it was a stupid reason but come on I was young and wanted to have the coolest stuff. Well its now 06 and I havent been on a kawi in over 10 years that is till saturday march 25 when I returned to my roots and bought a brand spankin new Black 2006 Kawi ZX-10R and boy let me tell you Im glad to be back on with team green. This has to be the most amazing machine produced. Its light as a feather has more power than donald trump and hilary clinton combined and well in my humble oppinion has looks to rival any super model.

Well sorry to make such a long post but im just so damn ecstatic to be back on with the best. heres a few pics of my baby.

Also as you can see in one of the pics I had to remove that god awfull fender. I made my own eliminator useing a piece of 1/8 inch 7x7 square aluminum plate. I bent the plate down at 4 inchs from the top to utilize the stock 4 holes that held the stock rear fender and give my plate plenty of stability.

That was a good story.. In 1986 I was 9 years old but I do remember seeing Ninja's, Kawa sure made a name for themselves in the 80's....

Even though my 10 is the first kawa i've ever owned.... I was raised with the lime green, being that my old man always had a Ninja in the garage...... even till this day.....

I've mostly riden hondas but my 10 is by far the most exciting bike I have ever been on.... I will keep this one for years to come........

BTW, Congrats on the new ride!!!
