ZX14 to ZX10 brake swap!!!

I've read pages of threads on the caliper swap.....I'm still not convinced. Has any one swapped the entire system? ZX14 mastercylinder, ZX14 brake lines, cause they are different as well. I love the brakes on the zx14, but no the travel in the brake lever on the 10. Has any one swapped the entire system???

On my 04, I changed over to the ZX-14 calipers and master cylinder. When I bought the calipers, the stock brake lines were included but I opted to go with Galfer stainless lines instead.

What exactly is it your not convinced of?? The 07 zx6r, 06,7 zx14 and C14 nissin calipers have been through countless testing and installs on 04,5,6,7 zx10's ALL with successful braking improvements with initial lever travel reduction, reduction in fade on both street and track be it OEM lines, pads or aftermarket products.

I did the Nissin caliper only don't see the need to swap factory brake lines. And the 06/07 10r already comes with Nissin Mc. I did the Galfer lines F/R and I love it. Damn I hope Ervins chimes in and you will see how he feels about the subject of brakes or the lack of on the 10r.

Life is too short injoy it!

Okay, let me fix myself before I piss someone off.

Lets say your standing between 2 motorcycles(06/07 zx10 and zx14). You have the brake lever set on "4". You start squeezing the lever on the zx10 and you hear the click........keep pulling......keep pulling.....then the braking starts to happen. Now the zx14, you pull the lever.....you hear the click......bam your already braking....with almost no travel. Will just the calipers do this or is it the entire system I need to get the same feeling?

I'm guessing you have an 05 hence the traditional type MC. The OEM radial that the zx14 uses is an improvemnt in comparison AND it can be bled where as the zx10 cannot.
In summation its probably best to get both the zx14 MC & nissin calipers if possible.

07 zx10, I have a radial nissin MC. With my lever on 6-5-4 I can pull the lever all the way to the grip. Yes the system has been bled several different ways. Still the same problem.

Just get the calipers in your case. The master cylinder is the same as the ZX-14's already. What you're wanting will be fixed with just the calipers and a good set of aftermarket stainless brake lines.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.
