İ have a smoke windscreen from Hong Kong for $15, it does the job and it fits fine. There are many makes i.e. Puig, zero gravity etc which are like 4x the price. Why is this? Does it really make a difference?

Most of the time, the knockoff companies parts don't fit correctly. If yours fits and looks good(clarity) than you're a winner. Post a pic of it installed and a link for others to maybe buy.

, 1/5th insert, -1/+5,comp werkes decatted,PC3+multi-hub,piperX,30 dry shot,2custom maps,Ballistic EVO2,Pazzo shorties,SATO rearsets,HealTech,ZG Corsa,EBC XC Gen3 rotors,Vesrah pads, SS lines, Gen3 calipers, etc and stretched 8" so it won't flip

I have seen many gauges damaged because the windscreen acts like a magnifying glass and when the sun hits it just right it melts the gauges. This can happen with stock windscreens too. Don't park in the sun if possible and get black windscreens.

Clarity, fit(generally the biggest issue), strength and weight. I've used Puig and zero gravity only but what I've seen generally zero gravity is the best except for exotic screens like magical racing where more than anything you're paying for Prestige.

I've had Hotbodies which I think looked great and I liked the fit but I can see why others wouldn't ( it was kind of offset) but it cracked for no reason whatsoever. I had a zero gravity and that was better as far as strength but it looked really cheesy. I don't like the look of puig but never owned one. I now have an mra which is great quality, nice shape but I bought the black one and it's actually black, gonna take some getting used to as it sits quite a bit taller. They've all got their pros and cons imho
