What Head Gasket to use and still run pump gas?

I read in a forum that every .08mm you go down on the gasket is equal to 1/2 or 3/4th of a compression. Stock on 07 10r is .65mm so with still wanting to run pump gas i went with .60mm bc im at 12.7-1 stock like all 10rs so i figured to be safe i wouldnt go over by going with a .55 but read a guy had a .45 and seemed to still be a streetable bike. I also ported the head a little and cleaned it up but i want to run high compression w pump gas and not have to touch TDC w the block or cams, just new gasket and rock n roll. Was this forum wrong or do you guys know any different set ups to run the highest compression with pump gas? Thanks guys and girls

You should be posting in the Perf & Tech section.

The .45 gasket is fine for pump gas. .08mm 1/2 per point of CR is not right. Maybe .008", but not mm.

lol yea i wasnt paying attention when i did that and im in the process of putting it on there. I forget which forum i was looking at but they said .08mm thinner equals .5-.75... idk but .45 will be fine for stock cams w no messing w timing and valve clearance?

I would check piston to valve clearance myself, but at stock settings you should be fine, lots of folks have done it without issues.

Do a search, this is a very popular modification.

yea dsabat i found it on 04-05 that itll raise the compression .5-.75 with a .45 but i cant find the forum that had the .08 for the 06-07 but there isnt much different between the two so i bout two .60's and one .45 and the 60s will b here sooner so ill try and take on of the 3 parts out of it and measure it and see where im at and go from there haha, heard that works if you seal it right so thats the plan as of now until winter hits and thats when the big bore kit should be coming thanks for the help bro!

compression

muzzy sells a head gasket that is .3 mm, .012 thinner and they claim .5-.75 pt. increase in compression. .045 gasket generally sets quench tight, about .026-.028. muzzy gasket would close it to.022-.024, thats piston may touch head territory. i like things tight, but if u remove a layer, i would ck deck height to be sure. not sure what you are gonna use as a sealer, but they can add several thousanths themselves.
