Velocity Stacks....

Are new velocity stacks worth the $$$ for a few HP's. Im thinking about buying the Factory Pro ones, $279. Any input???

Got the FP's but are they worth it?

They punch up the midrange for sure, give a real sweet intake sound and look cool. (Didn't do Dyno tests before/after)
Don't regret buying them but would I do it again? Probably no.

A pic of an early Dynorun.
Believe its the Stacks that makes the midrange look good.

Big Poppah any chance of a dyno run before and after? Kinda wondering myself if they worth the $$ for the gain.

That run was a test run only. Home made map in the PC and a slip-on.
The curve is identical today but with 166 rwbhp.

I own the FP v-stacks myself and have yet to see a real world difference. Matter of fact with the same rider (HJ), my new 10 (w/stacks) is slower than my old 10 (w/o stacks). The old bike and rider (HJ) combo are the only pair putting a hurt'n on Pesky. (see Racing- beat Pesky thread).

The intake sound makes up for the questionable gain. It's the ONLY reason I haven't sold them.

Do you have to remove the entire airbox to install the stacks or do you just have to remove the airbox lid?
