upper fairing removal

Hi guys,

I am trying to fit up my race fairing but am having trouble removing my upper fairing while keeping the speedo and imobiliser. Basically there is that whole mess of wiring and connectors on the left hand side of the fairing....this is what is causing the problem. Obviously if I just disconnect all these the front will come off easily...but I want to keep the speedo, plus I can't really disconnect the imobiliser or I am kinda screwed. Is there anyway, other than unwrapping all the tape that binds the electrical wires etc together then manually seperating the speedo and imobiliser wiring and retaping everything, that I can get the front fairing off ?....surely it can't be this difficult and painful !

Any help desperately needed !

dude,

theres just little brackets (I dont know a better way to describe them) and zipties holding the wiring harness to the fairing.

all you need to do is unscrew the "brackets" and cut the zip ties and the fairing will come off with all the wireing still intact!

Ha....thanks mate....was just going to PM you actually....looks like you are the resident expert on this.....was just hoping that I wouldn't have to go through all that as I thought I might be able to avoid having all the wiring transfer to the race fairing....but if that's the only way !!

Cheers

WEll it may not be the only way, but thats how I did it. You dont have to tear apart anything really...just pullng that whole wiring harness away from the street fairings.

After I did that and put the track stuff on...I used a lot of electrcal tape or zip-ties to tidy everything up.

If you need more help ASAP, PM me cause I get an email for PMs and may respond quicker.

Good luck!
