TRE purchasing questions

hey guys im looking at buying a TRE off of ebay. It say the TRE if compatible with the power commanders. can someone explain this to me? is this like a cheaper version on a power commander? or can i run one of these and then run a power commander for additional power? thanks guy

you can run both at the same time, the TRE puts the bike in a neutral map which has slightly more timing so you will be fine, post up a link to the TRE

not trying to sound like an ass at all but whats wrong with the one i was looking at? im just curious. i thought that was one of the less expensive ones lol

from what ive seen they are actually only maybe a 2-3 dollar resistor that does the work but 30 bucks is cheap though so i was just seein if there was somethign cheaper

Yeah that alot fancier then what they used to sell. I have an 05' and bought one when my bike was new, Damn, 4 years ago!!
All that thing is, is a damn resistor!! With some extra wrapping to make it look expensive. There is some wires that you have to swap over under the tank but otherwise it is a pretty easy mod.
I bought this one of ebay for 24.95 and thought is was screwing up last year. Well I bought IVAN's brand one and found out that they are the exact same damn thing. Both are a 2K ohm resistor wrapped up with a white factory connector on the end. Ivan's didn't come with the tools to assist you in pulling the wires out of the factory harness but the ebay one did.
You can't do wrong with the one on ebay.. IMO of course.
