Tether switch question?

I put on a tether switch on my bike last year to pass tech and come to find out, I bought the wrong one! With the cord pulled, the bike would start! But with it in place, it would kill the bike. I never could remember if I bought an open or closed style. I want to say open and I need a closed switch?

Any help?

I picked up a nice tether switch from Orient Express. Even has a rocker switch built in for nitrous arming or whatever else you need to be able to activate like lights etc.
Did you tap into the stock rocker switch on the right handlebar? That's all I did was cut 1 of those wires and that was it.

I dont know any other way to say it... but I will try again.

I bought a tether switch and installed it. WORKS GREAT other than the fact its opposite. I am trying to find out what style tether switch I need, open or closed style when the cord is plugged in. If memory serves me right, I bought an open one and when you pull the cord, it closes the circuit. I think I need it the other way around... so when I pull the cord, it goes into open. But I cant remember what one I bought.

Anyone know the correct switch type?

I know what you are saying, I'm saying I didn't know there was such a tether that when pulled would start the bike, lol. Seems ridiculous to me. Just Email the Ebay company and ask him which one shuts the bike off when the tether is pulled.

Dont buy one of those cheap kill switches...The last thing you want is your rubber cord breaking and the bike keeps running if you happen to go down...this is not a place to cheap out...anything to do with yours and others safety, just save up and spend the money.

I agree. Get one from orient express. They have a basic one and one with an accessory switch. The basic is VERY nice and is used by many racers.

Think about what you just said...

Now think about it again...

Let me help! If I crash, I am 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999999999% sure the bike is going to crash with me and a tether switch isnt going to stop the bike from crashing nor stop it from going on whatever war path it goes on. How many times have you seen a bike crash and keep going? Once... maybe twice... ON THE INTERNET!!!

I dont know how a very simple question can be strung out to be something else I dont really care about. Its a simple question. Almost as simple as giving a yes or no answer except replace yes and no with closed or open. Thats it. Not looking for tire suggestions, what the weather is like out, or who you think is going to win UFC 130. All I am asking is what style switches do our bikes require. Open or closed.

But after deciding to figure it out for myself, I spent about 20 minutes and figured it out for myself. Its the closed style... just in case anyone was wondering.
