switching (swap) forks question

are the lower OD on the tripple clamps on all brands of japan bikes the same?

if i wanted to a zx10 front end on another bike like a honda -- it should work -- just make wheel spacers for the front wheel and change the bearings to mach the new axle and have a top clamp made to fit the OD of the top of the fork -- i know those are different from brand to brand

has anyone done this swap here --- i know of people ding this

Indeed, some are interchangeable all will work in some sense or fashion.
nothing some attack triples cant fix if there is an issue with the difference in fork diameter, and the stock triples not beiing used.
otherwise could have some sleeves made..

What year forks (donor) are they and what bike they going on?
might helpt to get you started, also fork length can be an issue.

There are some variables, on certain bikes the bottom diamater is different than the top, vs other bikes, in other words the clip on area is 50MM on alot of bikes but the lower triple clamp area is different diamater. You can modify most triple clamps fairly easy, the steering stem is pressed in and you can get custom steering stems or machine sleves, etc. I am fairly confident looking at your creations so far, that you should be able to make something work.

ok -- i want to update my RC51 SP2 to an 09 front end -- i want to use the 09 R1 front end cuz it is light and i want the 6 piston calapers -- and i kno some say they are junk and some say they work great after U change the roder out

i already have a carbon front wheel that i want to keep witch is honda -- now with that said -- from roder to roder on the R1 is 133mm and on the RC51 is 142mm will that be a problem -- i went th the yamaha shop to take a measurment on the lower leg of the fork and i can't get a good shot at it
