I was looking at getting a super charger at first, but they said that they are maxed out at about 240hp. Thats not enough . I guess you could build the motor and add some nitrous to it.
I can't wait to see how velocity's turbo zx10r turn's out. I would really like to see what kind of power one would put down with a built motor. Ginja ninjas is badass. It says on big cc racings website that their kit does up to 340hp. So I wonder if they really turned his up that high or that is what they estimate. So far the most that any body has admitted to turning their gsxr 1000 up to is 325hp at 15lbs of boost. Built motors running correctly havn't broken any thing yet. It may take 350 or 400. No one knows. I would really like to do 400hp and I know some one that is going to try it. I just don't want to blow my built motor. I still have my stock motor for a backup.
One pretty crazy all motor one was built by lee shierts. 03 gsxr 1000. 215hp all motor and 270hp on nitrous. That is badass.

The problem with a Supercharger is that it consumes about 30% of the power it makes due to the frictional/parasitic losses involved in turning the compressor with the crankshaft/belt/gears. Turbochargers on the other hand, consume none of the power they produce. The downside to turbos is the lag. I like 'em both though :-)

Talking

My only deal about turboing a bike, is that I would be worried once the front end came up, and you wanted to back off the throttle, the turbo would keep producing hp after you wanted it. And with over 200hp, I think in that senario, you would really have your hands full.

Non-issue Hillcountry. Once the throttle butterflies start to close, the power drops just the same as a non-turbo engine does. The blow off valve disposes of any 'extra' pressure in the intake so you don't overboost the engine while closing the throttle. turboed bikes behave the same as a turboed car, or any other turbo engine. Super-chargers behave the same way also.
