Still Having Brake Problems

I have a 2006 zx-10r and the front brakes are not very good at all. I Have looked thorough the post on the site here and have seen what people have stated about fixing them. I have swapped to HH pads, went to SS lines and and have had them bled twice, they are stilll terrible.

I have seen people say that the zx-14 calipers are direct bolt-ons. Is there anyone that can back this up or anyone that knows if any of the zx-6 calipers are direct replacements?

Then I know that the pads are different for those callipers so I will need to buy new ones, but what about the lines? Any chance the zx-10 lines will work in the 14 or 6 callipers?

my last question is should I get a brembo MC or just get the stock 6 or 14 MC?

I have another track day and school starting in about a month and this needs to fixed by then, these things are terrible.

Thanx for your help!!!!!!!!!!

I felt the exact same way with my 07. I did the pads and the lines, but still wasn't happy with my brakes for track work. I got one of the billet radial masters, and now I'm pretty happy. They aren't the best brakes I've ever experienced (like MV brakes or 1098S brakes), but they are now good enough to keep me happy. So, I give the Brembo radial master a strong recommendation, following what you have done.

Later, Steve

The radial master on your 06 is the same as the 6 or 14. Just grab a set of Nissins and a set of stainless lines and you will be good to go. Here is a set on fleabay that still reasonably priced: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-KA...spagenameZWDVW

Not just the zx14 but the 07 zx6r and the concours 14 are the identical nissin calipers so yes read the multiple threads here about the parts swap and you'll be happy.

And don't be shocked if Ervins chimes in to advocate late model cbr 600/1000 calipers.

ok, I bought a set of the nissen calipers. Now do I need SS lines for the ZX-14 or will the lines that I have for the 10R work?

I have a ZX14 radial MC up for sale if you need on. I just put on the Nissins (ZX14) a few days ago and they are night and day difference. You will be very very glad you did the upgrade. But if you have an 04 or 05 you will probably want to do the MC too.

oooops, use the lines made for your 10
