shifting with a pingel electric shifter

I have an 05 zx10r engine in my race car. I shift with a pingel electric shifter. I have found that up shifts work just fine at any speed, off or on throttle. But, down shifts only work on throttle. This is all clutchless shifting. Not being a motorcycle rider, I don't know if there are any idiosyncracies of the zx10r that would account for this behavior. Any and all inputs and comments that might help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know why you'd want to "power downshift" a bike motor. I have one in a car too.

call pingel and explain your problem. they have a knowledgable support staff that could hep you out. if you find no remedy there check out a m/c drag racing forum......pingel products are esp. popular in drag racing. if all else fails there are replacement options that will surely work perfectly for your app. if you need to go that route pm me for some setup advice.

i think thats the proplem lol

try adjusting the speed cause down shifting shouldn't be the problem at all i can shift my weight on the bike and down shift with out touching the handle bars

talked to pingel tech

they said what i am experiencing is normal, the fix for the down shift is to blip the throttle as i try to down shift under braking. since i am left foot braking, i have a free foot for the throttle, so next time out (june) i will try that.
