If the oil level is ok and everything else seems in order, remove the LH lower fairing and you will find the oil pressure switch on the LH fwd side of the sump, pull back the rubber boot, check the terminal connection and trace back the wire to see if it has chafed on anything as a ground on this wire triggers the low oil pressure warning, moisture around the switch can also cause the problem, make sure its clean and dry.

If oil is ok, it could be battery low condition. I guess.

and i have no rode in any rain in months so should not be any moisture down at the terminal.

i have no idea where that switch and rubber boot would be!

I had the same thing on my 06, only at tickover though. Light would go out as soon as the revs increased, my dealer said it would be ok. ( well first dealer said it was a special type of switch that relied on splash and not pressure . . . IDIOT ! ) I think it says in the owners manual that its acceptable at tickover, mine eventually went ok on its own. I have also owned a BMW 535i that did the same thing and the owners manual said it is acceptable so long as the light does go off when revs increase.Hope this helps.
