Quick tire questions

I've got about 2700km on my 07 with stock tires.
I ride it pretty hard when i hit the twisties on weekends and i just completed a track day.

My front is still ok, but the rear is pretty much shredded :)

Is this normal, or should i be expecting more?

Also if i want more mileage but the same kind of grip, which tire should i go for?

Will i get more mileage with the off the shelf Q's ? or should i just go for another brand like Pirelli's or Michellin ?

Thanks in advance

i've got power pilots and love them compared to the stock ones.......from what i hear the pirelli's are too sticky for daily driving on the streets, thus you will have to buy new tires sooner than you really need to.

That very good milage (some places have more gritty roads than others, though)

For myself, on the Pilot Powers, even though they were perfectly secure, I didn't like the profile on my tight twisties. Metzeler Sportec and Pirelli Diablo Corsa's work better for me.
I'm lucky in that I live at the base of my favorite pass over the Sierra, almost no straight street riding.

Try a diff brand but the rear wearing quicker is common place as its abused a bit more.

Anyone know if the of the shelf Q's provide better mileage?

Ideally i would like to keep the front for now and just replace the rear with the same brand.
But if another brand is going to be much better in mileage, i would consider a complete new set.

Cheers

I was in the same boat as you are and replaced just the rear with a Qualifier 190/50 so that I could keep a "matched" set as the front still had plenty of life at the time. I've been overall pretty happy with the tire as it grips well and seems to be wearing pretty good and it was priced cheaper than some of the other brands. I would have liked to stay with the 190/55, but that size wasn't available until the 2CT's are released (I'll be switching to try those as a set when avail). I've got about 1,500 miles on the rear Qualifier and it looks like I might be able to get another 1k+ miles out if it. I ride pretty aggressively on the street with the occasional wheelie. I don't do track days or anything, so take my review for what it's worth.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

The bike turns pretty easely, so go for the pirelli.
The profile is not as agressive as the PP and the bike is easier to handle (my opinion with the dablo corsa)

Pirelli's Corsa III, grippy no need to warm up too.

And for milage, i started pretty hard with them on a track but they made about 3500mi (riding pretty hard, not trashy but hard...)

And as Kawi says, they need to warm up
